I love writing columns… there is something very fun and organic about writing a series of first-person accounts on a particular topic.  In addition, my weekly column that appears in The Westside Weekly has allowed me the great opportunity of being involved in our community, getting recognized, and always in the know!

Parenting – weekly column that appeared on Castanet.net since 2006.  Currently on a hiatus

Lakeview Heights Neighborhoods Column – weekly column appearing in The Westside Weekly since July 2008.  In the column I discuss local events, provide community information, and highlight achievements of members of our community.  Column is currently not available online.  Please request sample.

Good Enough Mom – regular column/blog on Kelowna Parents.com.  A funny/informative look at knowing it is okay to be simply “good enough”.   Currently on hiatus while I adjust to the demands of having one child in Kindergarten and not enough time to find the humour in our daily activities.

Recent Features
Good Feature writing is all about finding the right angle.  They say the most successful feature writers are those that take the same topic and can spurn them into various other stories/features for different markets.  I agree; however, being able to take an in-depth look at any given topic, find and interview the right people, and help tell the story is what I like most.  In other words, I like to find one excellent angle first!

Fostering The Female Fanbase: A Dempsey Racing Primer – RaceCanada.ca – August 2009
I interviewed Patrick Dempsey’s racing teammate Joe Foster and we discussed their team’s and the sport’s female fanbase and their unique position in the racing world. It’s a ‘different’ kind of racing story.
